Cat's Paw / Club Finger
The Stylophora Cat's Paw Coral is a small polyp stony (SPS) coral commonly referred to as Club Finger, Cluster, Brush, or Bird's Nest Coral. The genus name, Stylophora, comes from the Greek stylos (pillar) plus porus (pores), to describe its pillar-shaped pores covering the calcareous skeleton. It has rounded branches with blunt ends that differentiate it from other closely related SPS corals. It is commonly found in a variety of color forms ranging from blues to pink and has the ability to change colors within the reef aquarium.

It is a moderately difficult coral to maintain in the reef aquarium and should only be cared for by the experienced reef aquarist. To bring out its brightest colors, the Stylophora Coral needs a high light level combined with a strong water current within the aquarium. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.
While it does not require additional food to maintain its health in the reef aquarium, it will need to feed on micro-plankton or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates in the evening when its tentacles are exposed.
